About the role

We’re looking for an experienced manager to lead our Corporate Fraud Team, following the retirement of the previous postholder. Supported by a dedicated team, you’ll be responsible to manage the day-to-day operation of the Fraud Team, ensuring that the Council has an effective approach to fraud prevention and detection to reduce the risk of income loss.

About you

You’ll be a highly motivated individual who:

  • Has a proven track record of managing a fraud team. You will ensure that allegations are investigated professionally and in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice
  • Is keen to seek out opportunities for innovation to ensure that detection and investigation activities and processes are efficient and effective
  • Can support and develop a small and capable team to continuously improve. In doing this you’ll be someone who can delegate, empower and enable your team.
  • Can interpret and disseminate complex legislation, providing technical expertise to a range of audiences

For many of our roles (and where it is possible) we are currently working remotely and anticipate in the future returning to a hybrid office model on a flexible basis. This will still include work from home and flexi-time opportunities in order to provide a good work life balance whilst still ensuring that teams benefit from in person interaction. Candidates should therefore be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire or able to attend meetings as required if further afield.
