We are pleased to be offering an opportunity for two Debt Recovery Officers to join our busy team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Revenues and Benefits Service working in a “One Team” environment. As a Debt Recovery Officer, you will ensure the prompt and efficient billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates liabilities on behalf of our client Councils.
This role gives you the opportunity to makes a real difference to the wider community and the public services that are provided. It also allows you to widen your existing skills and helps you develop as an individual within our high performing service.
You will have experience in dealing with customers in a professional manner ensuring that customer records are updated accurately. As a Debt Recovery Officer, you will ensure customers receive all entitlements to relief and reduction to which they are entitled and make suitable arrangements to settle their liabilities. In addition, you will negotiate payment arrangements and determine the most appropriate action to recover monies to maximise recovery and minimise ongoing/ escalating debt.
Whilst an IRRV Technician, or similar, qualification is desirable, it is not essential.
The successful candidate will have:
- GCSE level C or above in English and either Maths or a similar science
- knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates recovery and enforcement legislation, case law and guidance
