This is an exciting opportunity to join the council’s Deputyship Team, part of the Welfare Support Team. The Deputyship Team administers the financial and property affairs of Bath & North East Somerset residents who lack the capacity to do so themselves.
You will be working with vulnerable clients and will be fully committed to acting in their best interests, ensuring that their finances and assets are safeguarded and that they are receiving all financial support available. You will work closely with the clients themselves, their professional workers, advocates and key members of their support network to understand how their needs can be met.
As a Deputyship Officer you will enjoy a varied and interesting range of duties including the provision of annual accounts to The Court of Protection showing income and expenditure and justifying expenses. You should have a client focused approach with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is a fulfilling and rewarding role and you will be helping some of the most vulnerable residents in Bath and North East Somerset.
Your designated place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away, however the majority of your working week will take place at home.
