Are you an experienced Housing Benefit professional looking for something a little different?
City of London is the smallest London borough with a population of less than 10,000. We are unique with our own police force and responsibility for a wide range of areas from the Animal Reception Centre at Heathrow to Epping Forest.
We have our own social housing stock. Two of our estates are located within the City of London, but the rest are located in our neighbouring boroughs.
We are looking for a Team Leader to join our small benefits team.
We need someone who is versatile and a good team player. Being a small team, you will need to be comfortable dealing with all aspects of benefits work from logging post and taking calls to chasing overpayments and preparing appeals and reconsiderations. We work closely with other City of London teams such as the Homelessness Prevention Service and Housing, providing advice and information in addition to assessing benefit claims for their tenants/clients.
We are in the middle of a period of change. We have recently moved to the Chamberlains Department where we have joined our colleagues on the Council Tax Team. We have also taken on some new areas of work such as the Household Support Fund
If you join us, we will support you to achieve an IRRV qualification if you do not already have one.
This role requires a DBS check.
