HOUSING BENEFITS OFFICER

The post is offered on a full-time basis of 37 hours per week and home-based working will be considered for this position.

The Council is looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Benefit professional to join our Benefits team, to assist with providing an efficient and effective Benefits service for our customers.

The successful candidate must have recent experience of assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction in accordance with current Legislation.

You will undertake a range of assessments including but not limited to; new claims, reviews, changes of circumstance in respect of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction and ensure that the quality and standards of your work fully complies with Regulations and the Council policies and procedures.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information and advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
