Performance and Systems Development Officer

Braintree District Council

We have an exciting opportunity for a Performance and Systems Development Officer to join our Revenues and Benefits team.

Playing an important part in helping to develop the service, you will have a particular focus on Housing Benefit and support the manager in the administration and payment of Housing and Council Tax Benefit.

You will assist with subsidy balancing and the annual audit and lead on the Benefits computer system, taking responsibility for systematic testing, development, workflow changes and fault finding and fixing.

You will also train and support staff with Housing Benefit and Council Tax legislation and processing.

With in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of working with Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support legislation, you will have the ability to undertake detailed research and implement improvements and to use third party report writing programs. Proven experience of running a service integrated computer system, along with year-end processes, is essential.

You will have a methodical, organised and conscientious approach to your work, good communication skills and work well under pressure.

An IRRV, (Institute of Revenues, Rating & Valuation), qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
