Community Services Division Benefits
We are looking to recruit a hardworking individual to work as part of our Benefits team. You will be an integral part within our highly skilled group, enabling us to improve our provision of benefits and assist our customers in a variety of ways.
The Benefits Team are responsible for the processing and maintenance of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims in a timely, accurate manner, in accordance with Housing Benefit Regulations and North Warwickshire Borough Council’s Local Council Tax Support Policy.
Reporting to the Benefits Team Leader, this role requires quality checking and providing feedback to the team on Benefit administration. Therefore, a strong Benefit knowledge is essential as well as an ability to explain decisions made. This role is also responsible for overseeing Appeal requests, preparing submissions for Appeal Tribunals and representing the Local Authority at hearings, so good presentation skills are also very important.
The successful candidate must be proficient on Microsoft Office and knowledge of the Open Revenues system is desirable. Please see the Person Specification for all essential and desirable skills and refer to these in your application.
