Revenues and Benefits Manager

Wealden serves a population in excess of 160,000, the largest in East Sussex and in geographical area at 323 sq. miles, we are amongst the largest Districts in England.  As an organisation, Wealden has 350 employees.

We need you – a dynamic individual with a strong track record – to lead Wealden’s team responsible for the assessment of Benefits, Council Tax and Business Rates.

You will ensure we collect Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates, make accurate payments of Housing Benefit and Discretionary Housing Payments, manage our local Council Tax Support Scheme and roll out government initiatives and internal projects.

Ideally you will be a member of the IRRV or have relevant on the job experience.  You will have excellent ICT skills, well developed numerical skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.   Ideally you will have wide experience of managing revenues and benefits including completing Housing Benefit Subsidy claims and Council Tax and NNDR returns for Government.

You will report to the Head of Customer, Digital, Revenues and Benefits, help advise Senior Management and elected Members, and work closely with our partners and others within the Council to help Wealden make a positive difference to the lives of our residents.
