This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team. Working within the dynamic and constantly changing area of Benefits and Assessments. You will contribute to the administration of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payments in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with all relevant legislation and regulations on behalf of Medway Council.


To accurately calculate new claims and changes in circumstances for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction.

To assist in ensuring that the council’s records are kept up to date by accurately completing reviews of claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction.

To assist in the provision of advice concerning the administration of Council Tax Reduction and Housing Benefit

To provide financial guidance to customers in respect of their financial welfare

To liaise and correspond with Government Departments, the Department for Work and Pensions, other appropriate organisations and other officers of the Council.
