We are excited to be looking for a Senior Coordinator to help us manage our busy team, dealing with the day to day administration of our services.
Our casework team* focusses on processing Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and council tax changes simultaneously. To balance the skill set in our existing team, we are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have significant experience in Benefit administration at a senior level. Your day to day activities would include overseeing individual and team performance, quality assurance, the delivery of training, undertaking complex case reviews investigation and resolution of complaints.

About this role
As a Revenues and Benefits Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of Council Tax and Housing Benefit professionals
- Ensuring accurate, professional and timely case management service to our customers across a range of Revenues and Benefits activities.
- Liaising with the Valuation Tribunal Service and Valuation Office Agency, preparing for and representing Maldon District Council at appeal Hearings.
- Overseeing and taking responsibility for the issue of legislatively compliant documents including bills, completion notices and benefit decision letters.
- Attending technical forums, arranging and attending client meetings with external stakeholders.
- Monitoring service level agreements and any changes in legislation.
- Assisting with system testing.
- Creating training plans and delivering/overseeing training.
- Acting as a point of escalation and resolution for a broad range of complex issues that require an understanding of relevant service processes, regulations and legislation.
- Inspire, support and deliver excellent customer service, promoting first point of contact resolution.
- Ensuring strict confidentiality is maintained, and data protection rules are followed.
- Overseeing the escalation of service issues where they are more complex; informing the Head of Revenues and Benefits of significant cases
- Dealing with more complex staff management issues.
We are looking for people who are:
- Experienced and technically proficient in using Academy software
- IRRV qualified or have equivalent knowledge/experience
- Significantly experienced in at least one of the following areas of Revenues and Benefits administration: Council Tax, Council Tax Reduction or Housing Benefits
- Committed to continuous professional development
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Able to lead and motivate
- Skilled communicators who can collaborate with peers, partners and external agencies as a member of the service management team
