This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our expanding team. Working within the dynamic and constantly changing area of Revenues and Benefits.

We provide fully managed remote services and work closely with many Local Authorities in the UK using a variety of software systems.

Successful Candidate

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, committed, highly motivated Team Leader with a can-do attitude to confidentially lead and manage a team of officers within Revenues and Benefits. This will require someone who can:

  • Be empathic to the individual needs of staff, customers, and other agencies
  • Utilise technology at an advance level to input and extract data – including use of Microsoft applications
  • Contribute to improvements to the service delivery, by seeing possibilities and seeking solutions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage a team, providing a lead for any issues relating to Revenues and/or Benefits as required by legislation, policy, or procedure.
  • Coach and mentor staff when required in all aspects of Revenues and/or Benefits.
  • Deal with poor performance and any disciplinary issues or manage success and achievements.
  • Demonstrate leadership through leading by example, having a positive can-do-attitude and approach, motivating and inspiring others.
  • Maintain an advanced knowledge of all or either Council Tax, NNDR or Benefits legislation and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and procedures in relation to all or either Council Tax, NNDR or Benefit activity for which the organisation has a responsibility.
  • Ensure quality is at the heart of service delivery, by adopting a ‘right first time’ approach that aims to meet customer needs and demands and to help achieve improved levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Support, participate and where appropriate, lead PMF- related activity, this includes the completion of staff one to one’s.
  • Encourage and bring forward ideas to improve the service the team delivers by implementing best practice, changing procedures, and demonstrating a willingness to learn ensuring a continuing improvement in performance, customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Ensure personal compliance with the General Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) and any other specific legislation that impacts upon, and exists to protect, the corporate health, safety, and welfare policy.
  • Work in accordance with the Meritec policy relating to the promotion of Equality and Diversity.
  • Carry out any other roles or tasks that are consistent with the level of this post, or that fall within the broad spirit or scope and purpose of the role supporting the delivery of the Meritec Flex Revenues and Benefits Service.
