Lichfield District Council is looking an experienced Benefits Assessment Officer to join our Revenues and Benefits Service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and effective processing of both Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support using the NEC/IWorld processing system, NEC Enterprise document management system and Civica Financials.

About you

  • Significant previous experience in Housing Benefits and Council Tax Reduction legislation with knowledge in Council Tax and Business Rates preferable as secondary knowledge areas.
  • Ability to determine liability and maintain Council Tax accounts, by actioning council tax changes and ensuring accurate, prompt and compliant billing
  • Ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines within a small team of assessment officers
  • Passionate about doing a good job and delivering results
  • Flexible approach to work to accommodate changing priorities.
