South Worcestershire Partnership

The South Worcestershire Partnership, hosted by Malvern Hills District Council, provides a Revenues and Benefits service for Malvern Hills, Worcester City and Wychavon District Council from our offices in Pershore.

 

We are looking for two highly motivated and personable individuals. We require one to join the benefits department who will be responsible for accurate and effective processing of both Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support and one to join the Revenues team to carry out all day to day activities necessary for the administration and collection of council tax and Non Domestic Rates. These roles will encompass day to day duties within both disciplines as we work towards a multiskilled workforce to meet business requirements.

 

The successful candidates will have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation, sound understanding of GDPR and familiarity with computer systems to enable them to meet their day to day duties.

 

About you:

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a good knowledge of Housing Benefits and Council Tax Reduction Legislation and have relevant work experience in processing Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support claims.
  • Are able to respond to customer enquiries by telephone and email / letters.
  • Can Identify and process liability changes for revenues, process applications for discounts and exemptions, set up direct debits and other payment agreements.
  • Take appropriate recovery action where accounts are not being paid when due.
  • Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal and be able to manage your own workload.
  • Are confident working accurately and to tight deadlines with the ability to work on your own and as part of a wider team.
  • You will need to be able to keep up to date with legislative changes affecting Benefits, Council Tax and Business rates.
  • Be able to demonstrate commitment to delivering the Council’s values of great customer service, openness and accountability, innovation and improvement and fairness and respect.
  • Responsible for championing and demonstrating the Council’s Leadership Behaviour Framework by inspiring, communicating, collaborating and empowering self and others and leading by example.

Salary range / grade: 25 Hours p/w - £16,551.35 - £19,169.59 per annum.... 25.5 Hours p/w - £16,882.37 - £19,552.98 per annum .... FTE - £24,496- £28,371 per annum pro rata

Hours: Part Time – 25 and 25.5 hours per week
