Thurrock Council Revenues and Benefits service has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager (Revenue and NNDR) to join the team. The post form part of the Revenues and Benefits management team and is a key role in the delivery of services to the residents and businesses of Thurrock.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, forward thinking, highly motivated Team Leader whose technical abilities and extensive people management skills will confidently serve them to lead, manage and inspire an established team of Revenue and NNDR officers..

As a fully qualified IRRV professional or IRRV Technician  is desirable with an extensive and detailed working knowledge in a similar role.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A working knowledge, preferably at a senior level, of the area in which the team works
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others enabling all to achieve their potential and provide a quality service.
  • Excellent written & verbal skills with the ability to chair meetings, present to staff, and write reports.
  • In depth knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates Legislation and how it is applied.
  • In depth knowledge of all discounts, exemptions, and discretionary powers that local authorities have
  • A strong commitment to improving service delivery to meet the needs of the client and service users.

Salary range / grade: £38,697 - £46,185 per annum

Hours: Full time - permanent
