We are looking for a Senior Business Rates Officer to join our high performing Revenues and Benefits team, who are responsible for the billing and recovery of Business Rates of approximately £65 million per year.
The successful candidate will lead on all matters relating to Business Rates and Business Improvement District (BID) payments. They will provide training and guidance to officers on National Non-Domestic Rates and directly manage a small team of Revenues Inspectors.
You will have a comprehensive knowledge of Non-Domestic Rates legislation and caselaw and extensive experience of working in a Revenues environment using the Northgate ‘IWorld’ Revenues and Benefits system. Experience of magistrate courts liability order hearings and completing statutory returns in relation to Business Rates would also be desirable.
