Senior Officer (Revenues & Benefits)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Revenues & Benefits service. We are looking to recruit a highly adaptable individual to provide technical expertise and operational assistance to the service’s Senior Manager (Revenues). The successful applicant will work with the Senior Manager (Revenues) to deliver an effective Revenues & Benefits service to the residents of Harlow.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who has excellent technical knowledge of the legislation that governs all or some of the following disciplines,

  • Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rating billing, collection and enforcement.
  • Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction administration.
  • Housing Benefit overpayments / Sundry Debts.

 

The role will involve providing technical assistance to staff in all areas of the Revenues and Benefits service and assisting senior management in creating an effective environment for people to perform to the best of their abilities.

You will possess excellent team working skills with the ability to work on your own intuition and remain calm whilst working under pressure.

Salary range / grade: £35,411 - £37,261 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes per week to be used towards the shut down between Christmas and the New Year)
