Senior System and Support Officer – Home based

Serco works in a strategic partnership with Peterborough City Council in the heart of the city, to transform the quality of local services for our citizens.  We currently have an opportunity to join our team as a Senior Systems and Support Officer.
You will ensure the delivery of efficient and effective systems provision and software applications in order to support the Revenues and Benefits teams in Shared Transactional Services. You will take a lead on the technical and complex aspects of the team and support the maintenance and control of the relevant computer systems used by the different teams within Revenues and Benefits. You will also be required to provide technical advice and guidance in respect of the collation of government and other statutory returns and also identify developments in the system, usually from new releases, that could provide more efficient and effective service delivery.

What you will need to do the role 
This role requires the ideal candidate to have experience in working within a revenues department using the Capita Academy Revenues & Benefits system. Alternative relevant experience on other equivalent revenues and benefits systems will be considered.
Ideally you will also have experience and competency in the use of databases and methods of data extraction eg SQL, Access reports, using excel to manipulate and present statistical data to non-technical users.
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) standard with at least grade C (or equivalent) in at least 5 subjects, including maths and English.
