If you are looking for an exciting career development opportunity in 2023 come and join our Revenues and Benefits team as a Subsidy Assurance Officer.
We are looking for an ambitious, confident, and reliable person who wants to develop their skills and take over from our current Subsidy Officer when he retires in 2024.
The ideal candidate will have in depth experience of working in a Benefits environment, understand and recognise the interactions of all elements within the service, be able to demonstrate the ability to take on board and understand complex legislation and be able to communicate their findings to others.
Working with our Subsidy Officer you will ensure that claims for Housing Benefit are being assessed and paid accurately in line with legislation and guidance. You will support the Subsidy Officer in the completion of the subsidy returns and working with the external auditors including completion of the workbooks. You would also assist in the timely and accurate completion and submission of all returns relating to the annual subsidy claim. This includes working with external auditors to complete their testing regime and to detail findings in audit workbooks, which result in the verification of the final audit claim.
In addition you will have a key role compiling and reporting on performance, validating statutory returns and in the development, implementation and maintenance of systems and procedures necessary to achieve efficient and effective service delivery. This will include the annual input and testing of data at year end/year start and adhoc downloads of data from the Department for Work and Pensions as necessary.
You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and to work with the other managers and seniors to record, monitor and improve performance to improve service delivery.
