The borough of Basildon is alive with opportunity and has the ingredients to be one of the most successful and desirable places in the South East. As the largest economy in the Thames Estuary outside London, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved but we are never complacent. We are driving inclusive, sustainable growth to provide opportunity and prosperity for local people and businesses, access to quality homes, vibrant town centres and an enhanced local environment.
Basildon’s Revenues and Benefits are a nationally recognised award winning service. We are responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debtors, and we administer the Housing Benefit scheme and Local Council Tax Reduction scheme.
An opportunity has arisen for a hard working individual to work in the role as a Trainee Revenues Officer within the Revenues and Benefit Team. The role of the Trainee Revenues Officer is to learn all aspects of Council Tax billing and collection, as well as the billing and collection of Non-Domestic Rates. We are looking for someone to work closely with the billing and recovery teams to assist them in administering less complex assessments, ensuring a good standard of quality and accuracy of work in accordance with law, regulations and guidelines.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, willing to learn and an effective team player, with good customer care and communication skills, who ideally has experience in working in an office environment.
If you would like to be part of Basildon’s success, we look forward to receiving your application.
