We have an opportunity to work within Transactional Services at Cheshire West and Chester Council at a senior officer level supporting the Transactional Services Manager (Revenues and Assessment Services) to deliver, manage and develop of large team of staff responsible for the provision of a high-quality Council Tax Service, including responsibility for billing and collection functions. Ensuring compliance with all relevant acts, regulations, council policies and best practices together with ensuring that all associated service policies and procedures are administered and developed in line with service and corporate objectives.

A great opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking, highly motivated Senior Officer whose technical abilities and people management skills will assist them to support, inspire and develop an established team of council tax officers. The successful candidate must possess extensive technical knowledge of current legislation and be able to quality check all formats of complex correspondence, complaints & FOI requests providing constructive feedback, technical advice and continuing personal development of the Revenues Team.
The successful candidate must be capable and have experience of delivering continuous improvement and efficiencies within a council tax environment and assist in the provision of a high level of technical and policy advice to the Senior Managers and relevant Senior Officers specifically in relation to council tax related legislation, policy decisions and plans. You will work closely with Transactional Service Manager (Revenues & Assessment) in supporting positive change and quality driven improvements using your technical knowledge and experience to best serve the challenges of the future, delivering innovation and improvement to help transform service delivery.
The candidate must have great attention to detail and be able to work in a timely and accurate manner to ensure all relevant targets and performance indicators are achieved. The council is moving toward an agile approach to working and the role will be both office based and homeworking.
