By the end of the course delegates will know how to:

Build a high-quality response to the First-tier Tribunal, and in particular how to rely on case law when setting out a position
Present the case in a professional and unbiased way
Understand the need for a flexible approach and how to consider the position taken by other parties
Identify errors of law in a First-tier Tribunal’s Statement of Reasons
Prepare an application for permission to appeal to the Upper Tribunal
Respond to another party’s grounds for appeal to the Upper Tribunal
Provide comments or further submissions in response to directions from a Judge of the Upper Tribunal
Know how to conduct themselves at an oral hearing in the Upper Tribunal

As well as a number of presentations and practical exercises, the day will specifically include the latest legislation and case law updates. Detailed notes, slides and exercises are included.
