Under Occupation in the Social Sector

The under-occupation course will include
- An overview including the numbers affected
- A study of the main regulations that will apply
- “What is a bedroom”, joint-tenants and other issues
- Exemptions and transitional arrangements
- Pensioner couples
- Managing the DHP pot specific to under-occupation
- What information is needed and in what format
- Obtaining information from landlords including the Council
- Subsidy and overpayments
- Recent case-law on vulnerable claimants and its specific impact
- IT issues including system defaults
- Explaining the changes to customers
The day is aimed at all those affected including benefits staff, housing and social landlord and customer staff who will deal with the numerous queries from claimants and others affected by this change
Fee: £225 members, £275 for non-HBINFO HBINFO members. Book three places on the same day, get a fourth place free (free places may be carried forward and used on any subsequent HBINFO training event prior to 31 December 2014)
The fee includes all refreshments, lunch and all training materials. Organisations are invoiced when the booking form is received.
All courses start at 09.15 for a PROMPT 9.30 start and we aim to conclude at 16.30
There is no charge for substitutions, although it would be appreciated if we were informed.
Cancellations within 14 days will incur a 50% charge
Cancellations within 5 days will incur the full fee.
Fees are due where time allows, PRIOR to training being delivered
All fees are plus VAT the current rate.
