ZOOM Subsidy Workshops 2023/24
As always it will be vital to ensure subsidy is accurately claimed to maximise income.
As we always do, the course will be updated and refreshed for the current year. In particular this year we will focus on:
Overpayments – ensuring there is a clear understanding of the key dates and other factors affecting their classification.
Assessment errors – building strategies to minimise problems and skills for clear decision making.
Identifying the correct rent scheme – clarifying what rules apply to what claims/awards.
Satisfactory evidence – LA’s have significant discretion in standards of evidence (on a case by case basis) but how should challenges from auditors be avoided and/or rebutted.
Earnings – always a problem area! The ‘rights and wrongs’ of assessing earned income.
More than ever, this year’s ZOOM workshops will be designed for more than just subsidy officers – as the audits show, getting subsidy right is an all-year round job for all active members of a benefit team. It is ever more essential for team leaders, “QA” officers and other senior staff to have a clear understanding of subsidy.
Fee: £360 for HBINFO members, £460 for non – HBINFO members. All fees are plus VAT.
This covers all training materials.
