This isnt strictly a HB/ CTB question but:
Children whose parents receive the following support payments are entitled to receive free school meals:
Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income of less than £14,155(as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue)
We regularly deal with claims from people who recieve child tax credits and are on low income and so get HB and CTB.
They are also entitled to free school meals, which we too have to administer.
We have a problem in that whilst the Inland Revenue will tell us the amount of CTC and WTC in payment, they are unwilling to disclose the annual income.
This then means that we have to write out to claimant for the award letter, which inevitably takes longer (if they even have the letter)
Does anyone else have this problem and how do they deal with it?
