A colleague has a claim were jsa ceased and was reinstated at a later date.

she’s cancelled the claim for the period 07/07/08-03/08/08

the claim was previously on shared room rate of 57.69w

when reassessing, the system is using a new lha rate of 60w from 04/08/08

is this correct? is this becaue the system is looking at the period 04/08/08 onward as a new claim period and not a change of circs?

    any help would be appreciated.
    thanks

It would have to be a new claim, wouldn’t it? Requiring a new claim form and new LHA rate, etc.

yeah we got a new claim and that is what i thought but because we’ve never had an lha rate change when we’ve done this before we just wanted to make sure that was right

Why is it a new claim? I am assuming that there continues to be a break in claim?

I’ve understood from the original post that the claim/award has ended on 06/07/08 and there is no entitlement from 07/07/08-03/08/08 due to excess income or whatever, and a new claim has been received for the period starting 04/08/08. Is that correct?
