I would be interested in hearing from anyone whose revenues function is wholey or partly generic. If anyone would be willing to share some details of staffing structure and work distirbution etc, could they email me at:

    clare.fowkes@chesterfield.gov.uk

Also if anyone has any poitive or negative comments from their experiences of generic working I would be grateful

This discussion always interests me. Perhaps I am just an old stick in the mud but I really don’t see why Revenues and Benefits are always considered a good bet for generic working.

One is a property based tax, the other a person based benefit.

On the face of it they are no more likely to go together than say Housing and Environmental Health, Planning and Revenues or Benefits and Renovation Grants, yet no one, as far as I am aware anyway, proposes generic working for those combinations.

It rather strikes me as a simular ideal to HMRC administering Tax Credits.
